Argentina: Excessive rains slowing down barley seeding
Excessive rains slow down barley seeding, particularly in the southern Buenos Aires province, the heartland of Argentinean malting barley, H. M. Gauger GmbH said in their August report.
Plans are to plant 850 - 900 thousand ha, but 9% still remain to be drilled.
The nations barley crop forecast stands at 3.7 mln tonnes.
So far farmers sold 153 thousand tonnes of new crop malting and 40 thousand tonnes of feed barley. Buyers are local industries and China.
